2 X K3S and N1MM+ SO2R RTTY

Elecraft mailing list
Sorry for the space. The problem had to do with enabling the
2nd CODEC in the audio panel. Now both transmitters are being
keyed, but only with PTT enabled. It still doesn't work with VOX
and I can't here the sent audio in the monitor. And the radios
sometimes hang in transmit. Hmmm...

Bill,

Do you have anything plugged into the LINE IN jack on the K3S?  That
overrides the output of the CODEC.

Have you adjusted the audio level to produce 4 bars with the 5th bar
flashing on the ALC meter?  Yes, that is unique with Elecraft gear.

If you are not familiar with that requirement, refer to the article on
my website www.w3fpr.com.  Scroll down to the bottom of the left column
and click on the link to get to the page.  My article generalizes on the
DATA mode application being used while explaining why the Elecraft gear
is different than other transceivers.  Elecraft support has additional
information that is more specific for several data mode applications
should you find you need that.

If you are setting transmit via command, that should be the only method
enabled - turn off PTT via any other means and turn off VOX.  Using two
methods together may cause the K3/K3S to hang in transmit (because the
two methods "fight" each other.
