I need to build a power cable for my new used KXPA100 since the original owner retained the power cable.
I can find 25 amp auto type blade fuses locally... they are Fast Acting type. Is that OK or is that just typically what they are anyhow (as opposed I guess to Slow acting that fry the goods HI ) ? The manual does not differentiate fuse acting type... if indeed there are actually fuse types to differentiate. tnx Brien VE3VAW ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Brien,
Those auto type blade fuses are what I use. No problems so far. 73, Don W3FPR On 3/29/2019 4:59 PM, Brian wrote: > I need to build a power cable for my new used KXPA100 since the original owner retained the power cable. > I can find 25 amp auto type blade fuses locally... they are Fast Acting type. Be sure to replace the fuse with the same type. Type as in Current
rating and Time Current Characteristics. In other words, all 25 amp fuses are not the same. If you want to understand more about types and what they do and how they work, see this link: https://www.littelfuse.com/~/media/automotive/catalogs/littelfuse_fuseology.pdf 73 Bob, K4TAX On 3/29/2019 5:04 PM, Don Wilhelm wrote: > Brien, > > Those auto type blade fuses are what I use.
