The 3D2R expedition has been on for the past couple of days with basically
the same lineup who put ST0R on the air. As you'll recall, their gear includes several Elecraft K3s and KPA500s. For certain periods, they've had good signals here in the midwest, and I know they are strong most of the day out west. I worked team leader Paul, N6PSE, and he recognized my call from this reflector and called me by name, which put a smile on my face. If you want to hear the audio and keying of a K3 coming to you live from the far reaches of the Pacific, tune 'em in. I heard that much of it is stuck in a container in New Zealand :-( Like ST0R, it looks like they will not be able to put all that great Elecraft gear to work on 6m either :-( GL to all those who are interested in working them on HF! Tony, Lance,
There are only some 3D2R operators, which have been on ST0R, but the organization is totally different as well as the lineup. N6PSE is not a leader, and if there are any K3 and KPA500, they have been brought by members as personal equipment. Otherwise the transceivers there are IC7000, hi. And this is T32C DX expedition, which container (full with Yaesu gear) is stuck somewhere in the middle of Pacific. Anyway, they must start today with FT450s, hi. GL working both expeditions! 73 Val LZ1VB >> The 3D2R expedition has been on for the past couple of days with >> basically >> the same lineup who put ST0R on the air.
