3rd Party K3 Compatibility Question

Rick Tavan N6XI
Please help me with an upcoming article on the K3 in NCJ.  I want to mention
some of the third party products that offer explicit support for the K3. I
know about HRD, WinTest, N1MM, Top Ten decoder and DXD cables, microHAM
Router software and cables and Elecraft products like KRC2 and XVnnn. What
else?

Thanks & 73,

/Rick N6XI

Re: 3rd Party K3 Compatibility Question

Simon (HB9DRV)
N4PY's software has K3 support. In fact any code written for the K2 will
work with the K3, I didn't mention DXlab because I don't think Dave AA6YQ
has added any K3-specific code.

Yes, the K3 is specifically supported.  Dave and I have been
exchanging e-mail on adding filter support for the K3 (FWxxx;
command).   Unfortunately there are a few issues ... Dual PB
filter is only available through the SWH command with no way
for the control program to know its state,  no way to select
the 1st IF filter,  and no way to set the center frequency.

I don't know if it wouldn't be better to wait on documentation
of the ! and @ commands.

In reply to this post by Simon (HB9DRV)
Simon, if you check out

http://www.dxlabsuite.com/commander/enhancements.htm

and

http://www.dxlabsuite.com/commander/versions.htm

you will see that Commander was initially extended to support the K3 in version 6.8.4, which was released in November 2007. Commander 7.0.2, released in March 2008, took additional advantage of the K3's extended command set.

As the K3's instruction set and documentation coalesces, I will continue to extend Commander to take advantage of its capabilities.

Ha, it's 30C here, in Kitzbuhel, Austria, and there's thunder.  I have
several hundred kilometers of motorcycle ride in front of me to get to
F'stafen on Thursday, and it looks like both heat and rain between
here and there.

Is Elecraft going to have a presence at F'stafen?
