5.6 Earthquake very close to San Jose

Yes, it was felt here in Santa Cruz pretty good (which is about 5
miles from Elecraft HQ).

No damage though, all is well AFAIK.

Believe me, here in San Jose we noticed it also. Luckily no damage  
here, but the phone lines are jammed...

Interesting; I was on the ARES/RACES net when one of the ops came on with the news.  We were preparing for another of our drills so we can be prepared for this type of occurrence.

  Speaking of that net, the incident never did show up on the
  California EDIS (Emergency Digital Information System) mailings
  that I get, which is usually filled with Weather Red Flag,
  Routine Test, and Amber Alert messages.
