After one or two panics (mainly caused by not reading my own notes), #5551 lives in its basic form, together with the rework eliminator headers. Its alignment isn't spot on, but it's not too far out, either! Rx seems very sensitive but alignment on Tx was not so easy due to power levels being constantly on the move. I changed C182 from 180pF to 150pF to shift the IF alignment (L34) slug away from the very top of the can, but it didn't move it by much. Thanks to Gary for his patience in helping me to resolve problems that turned out NOT to be problems HI! The XG2 proved to be very useful.
Soon to be added are all the additional plug-ins, then it's on to building the 100w PA and auto-ATU.
Finally, a HUGE thanks to my old pal, John, G3PQA, who gifted ALL the Elecraft kit to me.
Who's a lucky (old) boy, then?????
