A recent poster placed an inquiry about key clicks from a 100w 6m
beacon station a block away, wondering if his K3 was generating the
clicks due to the proximity.
Some days later, the post came up at a local radio club meeting. This
particular beacon is a well-known source of extremely broad key
clicks, clicks heard by many stations in the station's metropolitan
area and by stations at a distance. The operator of the beacon has
been approached about the clicks many times by some number of hams,
local and distant, some of them present at the meeting. The owner has
thus far refused to do anything about it.
No one listening to that beacon on any RX should assign a trouble with
key clicks to his own equipment.
No further posting on this subject intended.
73, Guy.
