64-bit Win 7 Prolific Driver install can't find inf file

Hi all,
Well I have a Win 7 64-bit op system and went to the Prolific website
and downloaded the driver for the USB-Serial adapter claimed to be OK
for Win 7 64-bit. The install failed because it couldn't read an inf
file. Ideas anybody?

Fred,

DO your windows update found in start menu in control panel.  That should
fix it.

Hi Bill (et. al.)
I followed and at first the driver wasn't recognized but after deleting
the driver and running the install (from prolific) again the driver is
recognized and installed.
