A KX3 Oddity when Changing LED BRT setting in Menu

Phil Wheeler-2
This may be new or may have been there all along,
because while I do Backlight Off when operating
outdoors, I don't think I've changed the
brightness until today.

So I'm running though the menu looking for
something else and come to the LED BRT item and
wonder what the different brightnesses look like.
But I found that turning the main dial has the
following effect:

  * LED backlight goes off
  * TX light goes on (but KX3 does not appear to
be in TX mode); the other three LEDs come on, too.
  * This is the same light combo I see transiently
    at KX3 power on.
  * The LED BRT does respond to moving the main
    dial to set it.
  * Leaving menu turns off the LEDs and turns the
    backlight back on.

Is this normal behavior? If not, what should I do
next?

Never mind the dumb question.

I thought it was LCD brightness. It's LED
brightness with the LCD backlight off. So it turns
it off and them on so you can see what the result
is.  DUH!

Phil,

While in the menu, the LED BRT selections show the LED Brightness when
(and if) the LEDs are turned on in normal operation.  So yes, that is
normal behavior while in the menu.  It changes only the LED brightness
and has nothing to do with the backlight.

The backlight only is on or off. But if you turn VFO A knob you can adjust the intensity of the various LEDs.
