A paper on K3 AGC?

k0wa@swbell.net

Has anyone written a paper (instructions or explanation) on the K3 AGC scheme?  A paper that could be read by a 5th grader?

I am trying to figure out Threshold and Slope.

I think the lower the Threshold the greater the AGC action or the sooner the action takes place .... where when you go to "8" the threshold takes place later.  That doesn't sound right either....lower means AGC action goes on a smaller signal....where a higher number the action takes p[lace on a larger signal.  See?  I ak confused.

I have not idea what Slope is talking about.

I run mine at 5 and 120.  What do other people use?

I've given it my best shot at
http://www.cliftonlaboratories.com/elecraft_k3_agc_and_s-meter.htm

Whether it meets the 5th grade standard is open to debate.

As Einstein once said "everything should be as simple as possible, but
not any simpler."

Jack....

Most excellent article.  And, it has pictures too.  That is good for the 5th grader in me.  Now, it is time for a little study.
