Tks ur response. 1)As you repeatedly press the PRE/ATT button the annunciator moves predictably between PRE --- ATT --- and extinguishment, so do not think that solder bridge is the problem, however, if for example you switch off when the annunciator is indicating ATT or is extinguished when you switch on againthe annunciator is always indicating PRE. 2) Have explored the alternative side tone sources but to no avail --- Still looking!!! Just a stab in the dark here - after you turn the pre-amp off use the band +
/ band - buttons to change to a different band and back again. This forces the controller to "remember" the settings for that band. After doing this turn the K2 off and back on again and see if that has "fixed" the problem. As I remember the K2 only stores settings after a period of time or when you change bands. You may note be allowing enough time for the K2 to store it's settings. Equally the band +/- trick will tell you if the controller is storing anything.
