I recently sold all my heavy metal - Valiant II, 51J-4 and CE 200V.  I
operate AM quite a bit. SO, today I gave the K3-KPA500 its first test on AM.
Operated several hours and received glowing reports on the signal quality
and modulation from some old timers.  Said it sounded like plate modulation?
Using a RE-27 microphone.  Just wanted to share with the gang. I am very
pleased, thank you Elecraft.

Hi Phil,
same results here. Sometimes i work AM on 80m and i get outstanding reports from the "oldtimers".
I use a headset from Sennheiser, the TX-EQ and a tube amplifier. 100W with unmodulated carrier and nearly 400W PEP with modulation !!! I`d never saw that with other modern equipment...
