ARRL November Sweepstakes CW

Julius Fazekas n2wn
Hi Kurt,
For a major contest, the bands were actually rather
quiet, IMHO. Wait until CQ WW DX CW Thanksgiving
weekend, THAT'S noise!
That being said, when I don't want to deal with a
contest, I go to the WARC bands. 30M being my favorite
now. The nice thing about those bands, is the playing
field is more level (QRO is not a factor).
Contests test station setups, operating endurance,
timing and patience. Competition has pushed some
amazing improvements in radio and technology.
Certainly they aren't for everyone, although they are
open to everyone.
The great thing about Ham Radio is the variety of
activities that are possible. Enjoy the areas of
interest to you.
73,
Julius
