The SW convention will be in San Diego this year, Sept. 22-24. For
information, call 619-692-3800 or see www.sandarc-conv2006.org. San Diego is also my home town, so I can answer questions about what to do while you're there, where the best beaches and hiking are, where to find good antenna trees, etc. :) I'll be doing a technical talk on Saturday. I may also have some new mini-module kits with me. Look forward to meeting some of you there! 73, Wayne N6KR --- http://www.elecraft.com _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Just hard to believe San Diego has anything to offer more fun than that! :-) 72, Paul NA5N ET1(ss) 10 patrols SSBN-601(G) http://www.ssbn601.com Click on "Tour SSBN601" to see what a *real* sub looks like from some old sketches I made years ago on patrol. ______________________________________________________________ QRP-L mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/qrp-l Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] |

Aah Dago! U S Marine Boot Camp 9Feb42 to 9Apr42 then to aviation detachment
at North Island. After guard duty and mess cook, sent to airborne radio operator school at Texas A&M for four months, then to Miramar, and overseas to Okinawa then Guadalcanal. The greatest thing about San Diego was the Nickel Snatcher ferry that ran form the Broadway Street Landing to North Island. Many a hilarious Saturday night was spent at the landing watching drunk sailors trying to catch the ferry. On almost every departure, sailors ran for the ferry, jumped, many ended up in the bay, and had to be fished out with landing hooks. Memories, memories!
