Has anyone crafted a case for the AT1 Step Attenuator?
(and how do you make nice small rectangular holes for switches....) /eric kj7ae |
Hi Eric,
I make one out of clear polycarbonate sheet. I only expose the BNC connectors though, but provide a sliding top to access the switches. It is part of a line of enclosures for what I call the "Test Bench" line of mini-modules i.e. AT1, NGen, XG2 etc. With suggestions from Don Wilhelm, W3FPR, we created this line of enclosures so that they could be stacked on top of each other to create less of a foot print on the bench when not in use. I externalized any connectors I could for each module and provide a sliding top for access to the other controls. It is held in place by magnetic strip and gives a nice tactile feel when closed. I apologize for not having them on my website yet - I simply have not had time to update the site. Everyone must have received mini-modules or keys that required enclosures for Christmas :-). So I have been plenty busy of late. Please contact me off list if you would like pictures of what they look like or if you have any other questions. 73, Dave W8FGU On 2/9/2012 2:50 AM, erehm wrote: > Has anyone crafted a case for the AT1 Step Attenuator? > > (and how /do/ you make nice small rectangular holes for switches....) > > /eric > kj7ae > > -- > View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/AT1-Step-Attenuator-Case-tp7268493p7268493.html > Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

HexKey and W1. They are great! 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2012 Cal QSO Party 6-7 Oct 2012 - www.cqp.org ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

All,
I have 3 of Dave's "Test Bench" enclosures and they have really helped the organization at the test bench. Previously the bare mini-modules were just laying on the workbench shelf, and I had to sort through them to get the one I wanted - Thanks to Dave, that has been solved, the mini-modules I use on a daily basis are right at hand, and all I need to do is reach for the right one in the stack - frustration gone. The sliding lid works very well - the magnetic strip holds the lid closed and the sliding mechanism is well machined to allow the lid to open with little effort. So if your mini-modules are in a jumble on your bench, Dave has a good solution and he does quality work. 73, Don W3FPR On 2/9/2012 2:23 PM, Dave Van Wallaghen wrote: > Hi Eric, > > I make one out of clear polycarbonate sheet. Ha! I already bought one of your enclosures for the DL1 dummy load. Great to know there's one for the AT1, NGEN, XG2 in addition to what's listed on your site. I'll email you about price.
