AUXBUS cable question

Can I wire a K3s to a KAT500 via AUXBUS cable, then RCA cable from KAT500
to AL-811H amplifier for PTT, and will the KAT break the PTT line if the
SWR is above the configured value in the KAT?  I don't want to test this as
the AL-811H has no built-in protections.

Sorry, no.  Use RCA for both or AUXBUS for both. It’s OK to have an AUX cable from K3 to KAT500 for freq and band info.  But you’ll need to also run an RCA cable from K3 to KAT500 to break the amp key line.
