AX1 Report

Elecraft mailing list
Dear Gang:
I finally got a chance to try out my AX1 for picnic table ops in a Sunnyvale, CA park.  On day 1, I worked a guy in Phoenix from my KX3 on 20m--after 2 CQ calls.  Day 2, I got skunked.  Yesterday, with 20m packed with contest signals, I put on the 40m coil and immediately worked a guy in Albuquerque on 30m.  Thirty meters on that tiny antenna?  Unbelevable.  All CW with 15 watts, from a rather poor-looking location deep in the dark heart of suburbia.

Re: AX1 Report

Pierre
Hi folks ... Today I made my 100th QSO using the AXE1. So far (40 and 20
meters combined) and with 5 or 10 Watts (KX2-KX3-AXE1-AX1), the average
distance of contacts is 1581 km with a maximum of 5635 km. Very nice
antenna for portable operations. ...
