About Keyboard for K3 for digital or CW mode (Without PC)

giuliano-8
I have tested this interface to add a Keyboard for IC-756 pro line and is
working well.
I think that can be used for K3 too. This interface can be used to generate
CW or RTTY, on K3 can traslate  CW to PSK31 too.
Schematic is minimal, also LCD can be removed, so only a programmed PIC (
.hex free available)+ some resitors are necessary.
So total components are:  a  standard PC Keyboard, a programmed PIC and some
resitors.
If anyone is able to program a PIC18F2620 a can send the .hex code, if not I
can ship the programmed PIC at empty PIC cost
Anyone can build easily this interface yourself.
See more at http://www.i0cg.com/rtty.htm

My personal K3 arrives around September/October

RE: About Keyboard for K3 for digital or CW mode (Without PC)

How detrimental would it be if I broke up the power cable going to my K3
into two segments, joined by a two pair of Anderson power poles?  Is
this sheer stupidity on my part?  (It would be convenient for me to do
this, but not if it introduces more problems than it solves).

Thanks in advance for any answer!

If you used #10 wire .....
Check out the July 2008 CQ magazine, page 74, the Beginners Corner column.
There is a very good write-up on page 79 on how to do this.
I suppose you could use #12 wire if your current requirements were lower on
each leg.
