Alaska - Cruise.

Things may have changed, but, it used to be that to operate /MM, you had
to have a license issued by the Authorities of the country in which the
particular ship was registered, plus, of course, the permission of the
ship's captain. Some Authorities (Hong Kong & Bahamas come to mind),
would not allow /MM operation at all.
Like I said, this could have changed - my 35 yrs of marine R/O'ing ended
in 1988. But experience tells me that Authorities do like to hold onto
such regulations!!
