This is very OT, to be sure, but perhaps interesting to some of you: For those of you who haven't already discovered this, there are some really awesome photos of the Mt. Redoubt volcano and it's surrounding area on the Anchorage Daily News web site, including eruption photos and pictures of ashfall. 114 photos so far, more to come I am sure. go to: http://www.adn.com/ (The Anchorage Daily News web-site) then, when the article about redoubt appears, click on "photos" for the gallery. You can also click on the AVO (Alaska Volcano Observatory) link from this same page to see more info. Click on " AVO Redoubt Watch" . or go directly to: http://www.avo.alaska.edu/activity/Redoubt.php You can see near-real time seismometers, ashfall plots, on-site web-cams, science discussions, and more - Jim, KL7CC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

This, likewise, might be considered Off Topic but should be closely related. With the volcano activity in Alaska and the report on yesterday's evening news about seismic activity in Southern California and the major report either late last year or early this year from the Mid-America Earthquake Center headquartered at the University of Illinois about the strong probability of a seismic event somewhere along the New Madrid fault line could make for a very active season for emergency operations.
