Alignment Part II

n9pt
I'm seeing some funny results on Part II. I set up the 4 MHz oscillator
by zero beating it with my Jupitor. The PLL reference oscillator showed:

High freq.   12100.48         Low freq.   12090.94     Range   9.54KHz

This was pretty close to the value of 9.8 KHz and might be explained by
the calibration method.

The VCO test initially showed 8895.58 KHz and alignment was all within
tolerance in table 6-1. On the BFO test the initial test showed 4912KHz
nicely in range. Band+ and Band- taps gave no change at all. I have
checked the soldering all roung the area and it seems good. The xtals
installed at X3  and X4 are both marked ECS D 491-0433 and the varactors
at D37 and D38 are V149s. I checked the BFO inductor for shorts and
broken leads, they are all OK. Any ideas and suggestions would be most
appreciated.

Pete/N9PT
