About 4-5 yrs ago, both Lowes and Home Depot carried an aluminum "tool case' that used pluck-out foam to customize a portable tool case. Many of us used these cases for our K2s and our K1s to keep them safe during transit to and from operating locations. Having just re-acquired a K2, I am now in need of one of these aluminum equipment cases. Guess what? Neither Lowes or H-D carries these aluminum took kits! Price range was around $20-$25 for the case. Does anyone know where we can procure said cases? I really need one for my new K2. We are going to Tampa in about a month and need a hard-case to protect my K2 portable station. So, if anyone knows of a source for these cases please share!! Many thanks in advance. 73 Rich Arland, K7SZ Bent Dipole Ranch, Dacula, GA "Cogito Ergo CQ" ("I think therefore I HAM") Author: "The ARRL's Low Power Communications, the Art and Science of QRP" (all 3 editions) Editor: "QRP POWER", QST Magazine (Jan 2000 to Dec 2003) Editor: "The Learning Curve", CQ Magazine Editor: "The Beginner's Column", CQ-VHF Magazine ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Maybe something along the lines of the Ape Case? Anyway there are a
number of cases like ypu mention at Amazon. Ape is only one. Don't know if there are any sizes that will fit your needs. All,
Trying to get my K2/100/KAT-100 operation with N1MM. Bought the Elecraft USB-Serial adapter. Installed the driver from the FTDI web site. Seems to be operational. Connected the cable to the computer (device found, etc). Connected the other end to the radio/antenna tuner cable, powered up the radio, and get the "INFO 080" error. Also, and the antenna tuner will not power up. The serial cable is a "Y" configuration running from the radio to the tuner and then to the db-9 where the serial- usb converter is located. Turning off the radio and removing the cable returns the radio to normal ops. I disconnected the antenna tuner portion of the cable and still get the same error. Reconnect everything with out the serial-usb converter in the line and all works normally. This is not a stock serial cable. It is supposedly one made especially for this application i.e K2 "special cable". I guess I will start by ohming out the cable. I need to find the correct schematic which is in one of the manuals I assume. Any other ideas would be appreciated. 73 Gene K1NR K2 6XXX --------------------------------------------------------------------- Web mail provided by NuNet, Inc.
