I finally decided to hook my 6 M amp up to the K3. I have been using the K3
with an Alpha 76 all winter with no CW keying problems. The amp on 6 M is a
Command Technology and I am having keying problems on CW. SSB no problem..
Below are the details.
1. Depressing the paddle, the K3 will key the amp into transmit mode but
no
power out no matter what the drive power level is. Using normal VOX
mode.
2 If K3 is put into transmit mode manually with XMIT button and then the
paddle
is depressed amplifer power out is normal.
3. Tried increasing TX DLY up to maximum and no change in symptoms.
I know there have been problems with some transcievers putting out a very
narrow spike on initial key down which makes the amp think it is being
overdriven and it will inhibit power out. I can use the amp as long as I
use the XMIT function. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate the
input.
