Amplifier Status KPA1500

Craig Black-3
As I re-read my prior posting it might have appeared
that I was trying to answer the question of
availability by including a quote from a previous
posting, but I was also asking for a status update as
it is now Fall and we have no news since June or July
on the status.

When will Elecraft start accepting orders ?

73's Craig

One factor that may affect availability is whether or not the FCC has
dropped the restrictions of selling amplifiers that operate on 10 and
12 meters "out of the box" yet.

The restriction was intended to prevent such amplifiers from being
easily sold to CB-ers who operate at illegal higher power levels as I
understand it. Nowadays most amateurs are not building* or modifying
their equipment, so it was expected that the FCC no longer expected
amateurs to be able to modify their amplifiers to operate on 10 and 12
meters, and keep their amps output "clean" and spurious emissions low.

* I realise the irony of saying that on an Elecraft oriented list. :-)
