I hope it's still there. It's gonna be a great DXpedition partner for my K3. Ameritron is Ameritron. They were bought by MFJ of course but I am not
aware of any of the amplifiers that were not designed and being built by Ameritron before of their sale to MFJ. 73, Jim KG0KP ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ralph Parker" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Monday, December 22, 2008 2:43 PM Subject: [Elecraft] Amplifiers > >I just can't get my head around Ameritron (Mighty Fine Junk) by any other > >name as builders of "quality" equipment. > > OTOH, I think my Al-1200 is very well built. I thought the Ameritron Amps were basically the design of Denny Had of Dentron fame. (Also, I think, Amp Supply in addition to Ameritron.) I don't think MFJ had much to do with the designs of the tube amps.....not sure about the SS ones.

Dave,
You may be correct in saying "most", but I do believe that some of the Ameritron designs were the work of Tom Rauch W8JI. 73, Don W3FPR Dave Agsten wrote: > I thought the Ameritron Amps were basically the design of Denny Had of Dentron fame.
