Having run my K2 as a QRP rig for about two years I had not noticed any
significant birdies on the bands that I operate. I recently started to use
the K2 with a KPA100 installed to improve my chances of contacts on 160m.
With power set to 100 watts I just switched to 30 meters to check the band
and immediately found a birdie at 10,114.3 kHz. It is only about S1-2 in
strength, but could easily mask weak signals. My KPA100 has the shield mod
installed. Turning power down below 10 watts causes the birdie to go away.
Is anyone else observing this K2/100 behavior?
