Anyone using this solder station?

 >4) "Price $79.99"  You should be able to find a good ESD soldering station
for about $55.  Check out "Circuit Specialists", "Contact East", and others.

Below is a clone of the Hakko 936 for $34.95.
I used one to build my K2, ATS-2 (SMD), ATS-3 (SMD), ZM-2
and various other things.  Indeed it is an exact clone
of the Hakko, has the same circuit diagram, same pc
board layout and uses the same tips.  It may actually
be made by the same manufacturer (Chinese) Hakko uses.

A couple of nice changes to the iron from Circuit Specialists is the
addition of a power-on light and they moved the on/off switch to the front.
I have the Hakko and find it a pain to have the switch on the side.

How flexible/malleable is the soldering iron cord on the CSI Product?

         Well not exactly Dale...

"Includes one FREE replacement ceramic heating element"

...and if you get your order up to $50 with extra tips, etc. you
can choose from one of the following 3 freebies:

My 2004 vintage and had a front panel red LED
which indicated power being applied to the tip (solid when
warming up and then pulsing).  It had the On/Off switch
on the side.

Quite flexible.  It says "YISHENG OFC AUDIO/VIDEO
HIGH GRADE CABLE".

For what it's worth, I'd just like to put in another plug for the Hakko 936.  The first time I used it, it was a near-religious experience.  I'd rather solder than just about anything else in the world now :)
