Ken, there IS a way to turn the fans on constantly. It's normally just used for checking the fans during the construction process. Hold MENU to go to the CONFIG mode, turn VFO B to KPA3, then rotate VFO A from Norm to FN1, FN2, etc, depending on which fan speed you like. then tap MENU to leave CONFIG mode. I tried transmitting (CW) with it set this way and it seems normal.
