Atu problems on 6 meters.

David Quental
Hello all,

today I was on 6 meters doing qso's, all went fine with antenna, a mobil
one. Sudenly I saw that SWR was increasing a lot, around 3:0, full
scale, and stoped TX. Pressed ATU TUNE botton but SWR was always high,
so I came home.

Applied my dummyload and all is fine in all bands except 6 meters, even
with Transmitter Gain Calibration test it fails because of high swr on 6
meters:

Calibrating at 24,930 MHz
StopTune: Unexpected response 'TQ1;' to ''. State 77. Retrying
Calibrating at 29,000 MHz
StopTune: Unexpected response 'TQ1;' to ''. State 77. Retrying
Calibrating at 52,000 MHz
SWR 7.3:1 is too high for calibration
Verify that a dummy load is attached to AN1;

Dummy load is attached to AN1 I can confirm it.

Any help will be welcome here.

Best 73 to all.

Re: Atu problems on 6 meters.

Hi David,

does that happens with the ATU inline only or do you have the same problem with the ATU in bypass mode ?
On 6 meters some hams reported problems with the ATU....

OTOH your LPF for six might be up in smoke...

6M ATU problems

Ken G Kopp

There -might- be an issue related to a forgotten
low pass TVI filter tucked away under the desk.

Some units were / are OK to 52 MHZ, but many
aren't.  They can be the source of "strange" rig
behavior on 6M.
