Audio Out on K2 Mic Jack?

scottw
Can someone point me to the documentation for this modification?  I
want to use my SCS Pactor modem with my K2 and was hoping to use the
mic jack for audio in AND out.
Thanks.

Re: Audio Out on K2 Mic Jack?

Scott,

Take a look at the Fixed Audio Output mod on my website www.w3fpr.com.
There are no boards available now, but the circuit is easy enough to
assemble on perfboard (as I did for the prototype).

Additional suggestions:
If you lay the components down flat, the board can be mounted between
the front panel and the Control Board giving easy access to the pins of
the microphone configuration header going to the mic jack.  Select any
unused pin (use pin 5 if you have the Elecraft mic pinout).  There is no
K2 function on the "FUNC" pin.  However, be sure to disconnect the
circuitry in the K2 associated with FUNC - strange behavior will result
if you do not disconnect it (do not put anything on the right side of
the Mic Configuration Header).
