Aside from the switch to change from a 1:1 to 4:1, what are the differences between the BL1 and BL2?
I've never seen either, however it appears to me that the BL2 has two binocular cores, and the BL1 has a single core. Is this so? By the way - does anyone know the specs on the binocular core? I'm guessing it is a mix 43. Carl WA7CS |
BL1 is only 150W, BL2 = 250W - but it looks like Elecraft have dropped the
BL1 now, not on mini module page or in order form On 9/1/08 17:12, "crstrode" <[hidden email]> sent: > > Aside from the switch to change from a 1:1 to 4:1, what are the differences > between the BL1 and BL2? > > I've never seen either, however it appears to me that the BL2 has two > binocular cores, and the BL1 has a single core. Answer - The BL2 is rated at 250W. The BL1 was rated at 150W. The BL2 is a little higher because of the two cores. I have both the BL1 and BL2, and also a modified BL1. I ordered the BL2 blank PC board and the slide switch and mounted the core from a BL1 on it and ended up with a switchable BL1. I would like to someday change those round plastic adjustable screws to screws with wing nuts. |

I'd actually like them to be banana sockets, sine I plan on using my BL2 in
a portable situation with a inverted V fed by ladder line, so I can make the connections up and just plug & play. 73 de M0XDF, K3 # 174 On 9/1/08 17:29, "John W2XS" <[hidden email]> sent: > > Question: Aside from the switch to change from a 1:1 to 4:1, what are the > differences between the BL1 and BL2?
