Band pass filter

PA3GYU
I can feel a new Elecraft MiniKit coming up....

Should be easy enough to design a couple of sturdy lightweight band pass
filters for the guys at Elecraft, or am I missing something?

Re: Band pass filter

David Cutter
I've often wondered about the pros and cons of a LPF in the PA v a BPF.  Of course the latter will be bigger, more expensive etc and probably for most amateurs to no advantage, so, it has to be an outboard unit.  It helps that these transceivers are amateur band only, so the rx side should have 'good' attenuation outside the band in use, if you are on the right side of the LPF.

Some linears have tuned L inputs which also helps.  Do the new Elecraft linears have BPF on their inputs?  That's a good place to put them if you are QRO, then you don't have to remember yet another switch.  I don't know any linear that does this, it would be a good selling point.
