Bandpass filter and IF amp adjustment question

JEAN-FRANCOIS MENARD-3
I trying to adjut more precisely all my band pass filters and IF amp
and I would like to know if the method I use is good.

I using my Palstar ZM-30 antenna analyzer that can generate and
transmit a tone at a specific desired frequency, the "VFO" feature.
So I put my ZM-30 near the K2 antenna connector to hear the tone in
my headphone. I turn off the AGC, RF gain set to mid range and AF
gain set around 9 o'clock.... After, I use my MM, set to ACrms, now
connected into the headphone jack of the K2.

I figured that I can now read precisely on my MM all signal variation
that I can made when adjusting all filters including IF amp. I think
this way is more precise and more steady than reading POWER output on
a dummy load that could be less stable...

Am I wrong or right or just paranoiac ??? ;-)

Anyway, I'm just suggesting probably another way to adjust filters ???

So, let me know...
