Battery Charger PCB (companion to 12v 5AH batt's)

Niel Skousen-2
Good Morning all,

Thanks to all who have ordered any of the 12v 5AH batteries.    There
are lots left if you want ...   8-)

I promised a description and price on the PCB and parts kit - here it
is.

The Mike Bryce charger board has a bridge and filter capacitors so you
can feed it either AC directly from a transformer or DC, an LM317
regulator, diode switching (batt or ac to load), two LED indicators,
and a terminal strip for power I/O.   Its still a pcb though, without
a case.    It can handle an amp to a load and charge the battery
concurrently, the diode switch the batt to the load when AC/DC power
is lost.

The PCB is $12 from me or from Mike Bryce, the boards will be ready to
ship in a couple weeks.    Parts kits, including the pc mount TO220
heatsink, schottky diodes, and terminal strip is $11.    Small Flat
Rate Box is 4.95,   so total would be $28.00 ea

I'll include a copy of the QST article, some recommendations for 2~3A
16v AC wall warts (AllElectronics, Marlin P Jones, etc) if you like.
For the gang charger on this project I've just cranked up the Alinco
supply to 15.5 and with the schottky diodes I can still limit/charge
at 13.5 out of the regulator.    But for long term use, I'll be using
an AC input for better regulator head room.

Summary
PCB only    $12 + 4.90      $ 16.90
PCB+Parts+shipping         $ 28.00

PS if you ordered 2 or more your only paying one shipping cost !

Address in QRZ is good, checks (pretty much anything...) ok
PayPal is nice    nskousen (at) ecsecurityinc (dot) com

Thanks all

Niel
