I have a K2 with the SSB adaptor, 160m option, audio filter
and auto atu built in, and an excellent QRP radio it is too. I have a dilemma - I would like a QRO capability on SSB but would really love to keep the K2 intact as a QRP go anywhere battery powered unit. Has anyone built the 100w KPA 100 amplifier option as a stand alone in a separate Elecraft case ? Any problesm with doing this ? Or do I have to either (a) sell off the K2 low power auto atu and build the 100w amplifier int omy exisitng K2 or (b) build anohter K2 but as the 100w version from scratch ?? I will be grateful for your comments .... best 73 Bob G4DBW _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Has anyone built the 100w KPA 100 amplifier option as a stand alone in a separate Elecraft case ? Any problesm with doing this ? ----------------------------- Yes, a number of ops have put the KPA100 in the Elecraft EC2 enclosure that matches the K2. One who has provided extensive on-line documentation for doing this is Lyle, KK7P. I just finished building the KPA100 and KAT100-2 in
the EC2 case and I love it. It went together really well using KK7P's instructions, <http://www.kk7p.com/k2kpa100.html>. I used the KIO2 option which made it very simple and neat. Everything works great! 73, Mark Baugh W5EZY Grenada MS __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Personals - Better first dates.
