I've installed CQRLOG logging software on a laptop running Fedora 14 and
using the KUSB cable to link to the K3. However I have not yet succeeded in getting the link to work. I suspect that I am guilty of failing to correctly install the KUSB driver. Is there anyone who has knowledge of CQRLOG that can give me some useful advice? The should be no need to load the KUSB driver as the chipset is likely already supported by the kernel and the Ekecraft driver is for MS Windows. Your username must be a member of the same group as the /dev/ttyUSB0 com port. When you do: 'ls -l /dev/ttyUSB0' you will get output that shows the group your device is a member of. In the case of Debian it is: $ ls -l /dev/ttyUSB0 crw-rw---- 1 root dialout 188, 0 Apr 13 09:50 /dev/ttyUSB0 So you need to make sure your username is a member of the group. In this case my username is also a member of the 'dialout' group. There is a GNOME administration utility as I recall to add a username to a group. There are also a couple of command line utilities to do it as well. After making the change you will need to log out and log back in for the change to take effect. > Is there anyone who has knowledge of CQRLOG that can give me some useful > advice? As CQRlog uses Hamlib, be aware that by default it will use the fastest serial rate allowed by the backend library. In the case of the K3 that is 38400 bps. What version of CQRlog? I've not tried the later 1.0 alphas as of yet. 73, de Nate >> -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds. The pessimist fears this is true." Hi Nate.
I'm running CQRLog Alpha2. The big change was in the back end database. They switched from Firebird to MySQL and they have created binary packages. Slowly but surely this app is sneaking up on the likes of DXLab on Windows. -- R. Also- what version of Hamlib? Until relatively recently K3 support in hamlib was broken.
