This is probably going to be a strange question but I'll ask it anyway. I don't have a cw key hooked up to the K3 as of yet. I finally have my microphone hooked up and all the alc and power levels set. In fact I made my first contact with the K3 on 40 SSB with WP2B. But I used to set my kenwood ts-480 to cw and would key the microphone and would be able to tune my antenna with my Palstar AT2K with no problems. But I don't know if I can do the same thing here on the K3. Any help would be very much appreciated. You could do that if you connected the PTT button of the mic to the
"KEY" input on the back of the K3, I suppose, but not otherwise (AFAIK). There is a TUNE function on the K3 - "hold" the "XMIT" button to start tune, and tap it to stop. You configure this for either [nor]mal power out, or a preset tuning power level via CONFIG:TUN-PWR. Personally, I keep a spare footswitch connected to the KEY input, and use that for amp tune-up at full drive power, and the TUNE function for a low-power antenna-tuning signal. ~Iain / N6ML On Tue, Oct 19, 2010 at 11:57 PM, <[hidden email]> wrote: > > This is probably going to be a strange question but I'll ask it anyway.
