CW Offset in SSB Mode

Roy Morris-6
I have CW set up on 75 meters SSB.  Is it necessary to set this up on each
band?  If not, does the CW offset automatically shift correctly while on the
20 meter SSB band, for example?  Roy  W4WFB

Re: CW Offset in SSB Mode

Richard Ferch
If you are talking about the CW OFS option that has been discussed here
(CONFIG:CW WGHT and tap 5), then: (a) changing this option affects all
bands, not just the current band; and (b) for stations that are exactly
on the same pitch that you have selected for your sidetone, the CW
offset is correct for either sideband. However, stations that are not on
the sidetone pitch will change pitch if the sideband you use in CW is
not the same as the SSB sideband. To get accurate pitch matching for all
signals within the bandpass, you should use CW REV on bands where you
use USB for phone, and CW normal on bands where you use LSB for phone.

[K3]: Soon to join the K3 club!

Jim Low man
Since I didn't get my order for the KX3 kit in until January 6th, it may
be a while before I see it.
I've been drooling over the K3 for some time, especially when I see
Wayne, Eric and Lisa at a convention and can touch the real thing.

So, I ordered a K3/10 kit today.
If the order status page is up to date, it should be shipped in 1-3
business days.  That will give me something to do while waiting for the KX3.

Can someone send me the ordering info for Fred Cady's book?
