Could someone explain CWT to me. I use it all the time now because I can never can quite zero beat the station. I like a higher tone for may ears and that causes be to off his zero beat. But when I use CWT the tuning goes to a low tone that I am not use to. Is there away to change the zero beat tone to a higher frequency? I dunno if I am explaining it right or not... I guess this old guy has some hearing issues... Lee - K0WA In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply. If you don't have any Common Sense - get some Common Sense and use it. CWT tunes to zero-beat your CW pitch. If it is finding false zero beat
at a very different pitch, try narrowing the the filtering (WIDTH control) to a few hundred Hz, tune until you hear the signal in the passband with CWT on and see the signal in the CWT moving dot display , then tap SPOT. The capture range of CWT is about +/- 125 Hz. If there are multiple signals in your passband, that will probably confuse it. 73, Lyle KK7P > Could someone explain CWT to me. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Lee,
It will adjust to the pitch that you have set for the sidetone. Hold the PITCH button and adjust it to something easy for your ears to hear. You do have to get close to the proper tone before the auto-spot will work. You may have to adjust the threshold - see the CWT and SPOT instructions in the manual. 73, Don W3FPR On 11/30/2010 9:45 AM, Lee Buller wrote: > Could someone explain CWT to me. Further, the CWT algorithm requires a reasonable signal-to-noise ratio.
If the signal is noisy, CWT won't find it. 73, Lyle KK7P > The capture range of CWT is about +/- 125 Hz.
