Calibration

Chester Alderman
I'm an ex-electronics engineer, so I know not to 'assume'!

My K3 was factory assembled/tested and has been working fine. Is it true
that since it's a factory build that I do not need to go through the
calibration process?

Thanks and 73,

Tom - W4BQF

Re: Calibration

  Tom,

For the most part, the answer is yes, but there is no harm in doing the
TX Gain Calibration using the K3 Utility procedure,, it is easy, and if
you have a signal generator with a 50 uV output, do the RX gain
calibration too.
If you have the means, do the wattmeter calibration first, and check the
CAL REF by receiving WWV on the highest frequency that you can hear it.

What I am saying is that the calibration for the K3 is not difficult, so
just walk through it occasionally as a 'sanity check'
