Yes they do Icom support in a way just kidding 8>). I had a question about
using my KPA/KAT/500 with my IC-9100 that wasn't quite clear in the manual. That was using the 15 pin KPA500 to the IC-9100 13 pin DIN when also using the KAT500, was there any advantage in doing so, or even advisable to so. If you look at both the Elecraft manuals you will see what my foggy mind was seeing about both hookups. As with most things not related directly to a Elecraft radio but their other equipment using them I called Howard. After a couple of minutes talking with him for the first time he told me he didn't know (that was a first) and would have someone call me back. This is the embarrassing part I cannot remember his name but he explained every aspect of both hookups and the advantages of the one I was wanting to do. The detail and in depth use of the Icom using it's interface to control the KPA/KAT500 and what it did. My main concern had been with what and if this connection had on the KAT500 either good bad or no effect over the coax and key line. The answer it was all good do the DIN connection. Again great tech support and not someone reading from a book about your problem and never giving you a real answer. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

The person you talked to was David in our support group. I'll make sure he gets a copy of your post!

Thanks Eric that was embarrassing that I forgot his name but what a great
job he did was above and beyond. I know you guys must get tired of hearing it "but really a great support group". One of the many reasons all my equipment except the IC-9100 is Elecraft just because it does a lot of things quite well also. My first time speaking with David but a name I now will not forget. For those of you that may speak to David sometime be assured he will take the time to explain something to an old and befuddled brain with "CRS" like mine. He deserves an Atta boy from the top for sure, people like him and Harold is where the name "Customer Service" came from. -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Eric Swartz WA6HHQ - Elecraft Sent: Thursday, June 06, 2013 12:43 PM To: Fred Smith Cc: <[hidden email]> Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Calling Elecraft for Icom Support The person you talked to was David in our support group.
