Possibly you guys should seek retraining on how to use email. If the topic shown in the subject line doesn't appeal to you ... (read this next part carefully) ... you don't have to open it. Back in the PI days (pre-Internet), we wouldn't be typing messages to this
listserv. If we were home (instead of at work, as I am now) and we had something to say about ham-related stuff, we would have gone on the air and said it. Not a bad idea, actually. You guys who have the luxury of being near your radios should be operating those instead of your email systems. Amend, Dave! Below is a copy of my response to a similar request some years back.
*** Is it not just as easy to simply utilize the 'Delete' key? I've always been a tad fascinated by a request such as this. If a group of individuals enjoy discussing a certain topic and a few others do not, is it not just as easy for the few (or "I, for one") to just delete or skip that particular thread rather than speak for the collective? Imagine coming upon a roundtable/ragchew OTA re. a topic we didn't particularly enjoy. Would we QSK and ask that the discussion cease... Or would we simply QSY? *** As always, take care es...
