I wrote earlier and have been given some help by two readers of my post. I am new to the K3, and for that matter new to Elecraft. I recently purchased a K3 and KX3. I also have a Yaesu FT 1000MP Mark-V Field that presents no issue to switch to the sub...a button, that's it.
From the two other hams, I reset settings in configuration and though I thought I had it, the two knobs for the sub vs. main (AF/RF) don't make sense. Also, I cannot change bands on the sub as I can with the main. ATU Tune works on both. I can tune in a frequency on the sub but again the AF/RF knobs don't make sense the way they are set.
I feel I don't have everything set as it should be, but I don't feel there is nothing wrong with the radio.
Unfortunately, I live in an area, Syracuse, New York where Elecraft is not a household word, thus I can get no help from the locals. So much for Elmers.
I will post my phone number, I am retired and can be reached at reasonable hours and perhaps someone can walk me through the steps to help set up this radio and I can use it to it's fullest capacity.
