Capacitor install page 52 of manual (K2)

Don Baucom
I am install the Caps on page 52. In trying to get them as close to the board as possible. I broke the lead on C71. My initial focus on short leads might result in damaging the capacitors . It looks like some caps will have to sit up some since their width is less than the width of where they go. How critical is the lead lenghts on these capacitors?

Thanks

Don,

Do not stress the leads - you can form them to fit the hole spacing
better (and you do have to do that for a few in the bandpass filter
area).   If the  leads are less than 1/4 inch that is normally OK - one
major reason to keep the capacitors close to the board is physical -
they will not flop around with shorter leads.

There are a few capacitors that should be mounted with short leads, to
keep stray noise pickup to a minimum, but in no case do they need to be
so short that the leads are under stress.
