Colored Cases

k0wa@swbell.net

Ok, Thom LaCosta let the cat out of the bag.  Color Cases.  Gee, I did like the Hilberling radios at Dayton.  I did not like the blue radio at all.  It seem the blue case just did not have a lot of QSOs in it.  But, the dark maroon and the black were really sharp looking....with lots of QSOs inside.

Maybe the K3 can be offered in colors in the future.....

QRP Sky Blue or Forest Green
  QRO Blood Red (Maroon)
  PSK  Rainbow (waterfall effect)
Contester Black (Fire pin stripes optional)
Rag Chewer Grey (5 different shades)

Ok, I will take my medicine now.....now where did I put those pills.

In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply.  If you don't have any Common Sense - get some Common Sense and use it.  If you can't find any Common Sense, ask for help from somebody who has some Common Sense.  Is Common Sense divine?

I would spend an extra $50-$100 or so for a choice of color. And I agree
that dark maroon color looked like a better radio than the sky blue one.

For some reason, color choice is rare in the US. If you go to Japan and
other countries you'll often find digital cameras and PDAs available in a
rainbow of colors. The very same models in the US are black or silver.

I realize it's cheaper to paint all the cases the same color, but if we're
willing to spend more for a color case, then why not? I'd order that maroon
color without hesitation. I think "Elecraft Classic Gray" would make a good
choice, too.

Seems like there's a business opportunity here. We've had the Toroid
Guy, how about the Case Repaint Guy?
