For those who are interested,

guys, 20 years before I was born :-)] and some from the 70's. Even from
the 70's, they sound like I remember the Holy Frequency from the
mid-50's. They're zip files, you need to download and unzip them.
If you were in the [apparently-unmentionable-activity] this weekend,
compare what you heard to these recordings. Even in the 50's, and
certainly in the 70's, the ham bands were filled with stable, clean
signals. This last weekend, watching my P3, I was stunned by how close
signals were packed, and that I could slip in between them and make a
contact and not hear any QRM.
Jeff, N6GQ, was at K6IDX and hugely strong here [23 or so miles, LOS].
I heard him, or anything he was emitting, on my K3, with "stock" roofing
filters, *only* when I was tuned to him. It's easy to spot the
unmodified FT's, but I know a bunch of the "500's" were K3-KPA500.
Take a listen to what "professional radio" sounded like not so horribly
long ago. I think we're pretty good ... for "amateurs."
