Competition coming for Elecraft?

James T. "Jim" Rogers, W4ATK
At $6K fully loaded I will take 4 K2/100s and have a bit left over
for maybe a T1 or ........

I don't think it will be competition for Elecraft.

And did you look at all the surface mount, sure you can fix it, just
buy a rework station.....

Good point, Jim. The main reason I got a K2 wasn't for the thrill of
building, it was for the serviceability. I don't see the Sienna being
easy to repair or modify.

Of course, the price would take it out of contention anyway ;-)

Hi Gentleman,

You indeed hit the nail on its head.  To me, serviceability is the number
one important.  I have ICOM PW-1 but I still look for the KPA800/1500.  In
case there is something wrong with my linear, I simply can do nothing but
send it back for repair.

For the same rationale, if there are something wrong with my IC756pro3 and
FTDX9000, nothing I can do.  K2 is still a very important member on my
shack.

For an amount of $6k, I shall have a lot choices and my expectation is
different.  Sienna should belong to another market segment.
