On my last order to my favorite computer parts vendor I added an
inexpensive ($9.00) computer-type headset with mic. These turned out to
be somewhat cheaply made - but not bad, with good sound quality and are
reasonably comfortable. I plugged them into the K3, set the appropriate
parameters and they work like a charm. Earphones and mic plugs both
just plug into the jacks in the back. You setup vox gain and antivox,
turn the bias on, adjust your mic gain and you're ready to go. A great
setup for a very minimal investment. Audio reports are good and its
easy to tweak and balance the sound of the mic. I pulled down the bass
and high-end treble and added extra gain in the upper midrange. And the
vox works great - better than any other radio I've tried.
