I've been clearing the store room of the decades of accumulated
radio-related items. I've done well on eBay. And now its time to replace a few critical items. I'm wondering what you guys think is about the best power supply for the money for my K3/100. Right now I'm thinking the Alinco DM-330MVT looks awefully good. I've also had great luck with Samlex. Although they are not that well known the make a good power supply. 73, Doug -- K0DXV _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Hello,
I'm going to look for a good Astron RS-35M. It will not even breath hard at full power and I like to have the meters (amps and volts) to give me a warm fuzzy feeling. Also it is linear, not a switcher. I have decided to go with a linear supply. I have a Jetstream JTPS28M ($99 from R&L Electronics)
that I am using to power a Yaesu FT-900 and a Kenwood TS-850S that is rated 25 amps continuous and 32 amps intermittent. I have been very happy with this supply. It includes voltage and current meters and binding post as well as cigar lighter type connections. It powers both transceivers on receive and one at a time on transmit. Jetstream now offers a JTPS35BCM 35 amp supply with provisions to connect and charge a backup battery. I am probably going to purchase one of these for my K3 to get the battery provision. Don't know if you can get it over there but the Diamond GSV3000 is a nice unit, analog PSU, weighs a ton, rated at 25A. I had one years ago and sold it when I went QRP and always regretted it, so I got another when I ordered the K3. There is no such thing as a quiet switched mode power supply. There are just those that make noises where you want to listen and those that don't.

I've used the same Astron RS-35A for at least 20 years with several different rigs and without a bit of trouble.
