I want to control the B VFO of the K3 is split mode operation by clicking on the Skimmer display. Currently when I click on the Skimmer display it controls the A VFO. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. This looks like one way to go about it ..... http://home.roadrunner.com/~w3oa/SkimmerToCommander/ There may be some way to do it "natively", perhaps by tweaking the Omni-Rig K3 definition.. haven't looked into it (yet). 73, ~iain / N6ML ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
A year or two ago I obtained a K3 subrx definition file SKIMMER.
Clicking calls on the bandmap or call list and sends VFO B there. It only works if you have a subrx and are tapping the subrx IF. (I think) I don't know what will happen if you are in "split" w/o a subrx using VFOA IF output. I can't claim understanding about the file nor guarantee it will work for you. I do thank whoever made it up initially. If you have SKIMMER set up to export spots, then clicking on the spot sends in your logging program sends VFO A to the station. Clicking on the bandmap or call list sends VFO B to the station. Works for me. Contact me for a copy. 73 de Brian/K3KO On 11/30/2012 20:14, iain macdonnell - N6ML wrote: > On Fri, Nov 30, 2012 at 11:46 AM, Shel Sherman <[hidden email]> wrote: >> I want to control the B VFO of the K3 is split mode operation by clicking on >> the Skimmer display. Just for grins, I tried editing:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Afreet\OmniRig\Rigs\Elecraft K3.ini to change: [pmFreqA] Command=(FA...........;) Value=2|11|vfText|1|0 ReplyLength=0 to: [pmFreqA] Command=(FB...........;) Value=2|11|vfText|1|0 ReplyLength=0 It seems to basically work... but each click causes the waterfall to shift, because CW Skimmer thinks that the main frequency is being changed, but it's really not. It seems it'd be easy for CW Skimmer to implement a proper solution to this - e.g. Alt-Click to QSY VFO B, or/and a configurable option for left click to affect VFO A or B, but I haven't had much luck with RFEs to Alex :/ 73, ~iain / N6ML On Fri, Nov 30, 2012 at 12:26 PM, Brian Alsop <[hidden email]> wrote: > A year or two ago I obtained a K3 subrx definition file SKIMMER. > Clicking calls on the bandmap or call list and sends VFO B there. > > It only works if you have a subrx and are tapping the subrx IF. If you can find a copy of RigSync by Ed, W2RF, I think it has an
option to set VFO B when in split and clicking on a spot in Skimmer. It has been awhile since I have used it though. 73 Greg AB7R On 11/30/12, iain macdonnell - N6ML <[hidden email]> wrote: > Just for grins, I tried editing: > > C:\Program Files (x86)\Afreet\OmniRig\Rigs\Elecraft K3.ini > > to change: > > [pmFreqA] > Command=(FA...........;) > Value=2|11|vfText|1|0 > ReplyLength=0 > > > to: > > [pmFreqA] > Command=(FB...........;) > Value=2|11|vfText|1|0 > ReplyLength=0 > > > It seems to basically work... but each click causes the waterfall to > shift, because CW Skimmer thinks that the main frequency is being > changed, but it's really not.
